AS3 Game Gears is the right place to find tools, libraries and engines to build your game. There is no need to reinvent the wheel for every new Flash game you create, all you need is a place to search for the tools that best fit your needs.
So what do you want?
Hi!
I’ve write about this site, here!! http://randomtower.blogspot.com/2010/06/are-you-experienced-programmer-in-as3.html
can we share links? Let me know (comment my link please!)
Thanks for the post, Marte!

How could I forget the above collision detection kit?

Thanks for the tip, Don!
To create motion detection games: http://code.google.com/p/as3motion/
Thank you, John! I was just thinking about such lib in order to enhance the augmented reality catagory. That will fit pretty well!
Hi – great initiative! Could you please add “Gamepad”, my input manager project:
http://blog.iainlobb.com/2010/04/introducing-gamepad.html
You could maybe use an “input” category too.
cheers
Iain
Thanks, Iain! Your tool is amazing. I had a lot of problems with input management in the past. Gamepad is a breeze to handle user input. I will create a new category for your tool. It wil be in the site soon.
Congratulations for the site.
Just a tip: I think that the texts could be more extensive, maybe with a little “hello world” code example.
Thank you, Henrique! I thought about your suggestion these days. Up to the present moment I just copy the author’s description and the feature list of each project. A little “hello world” is very helpful indeed.
Hey,
good idea with the blog! I wrote a blog article about Flash Game Libraries
http://blog.derhess.de/2009/09/04/flash-game-frameworks-classes-and-libraries/
I really would appreciate if someone has the time and the motivation to write reviews about these Gaming Tools. Especially comparing these tools with each other would be soo cool and helpful! Thx
Florian
Thanks, Flo! Your article about Flash game libs is very interesting. There is a lot of tools I didn’t know about. I take a deep look at them and list each one here.
I agree with about the comparison of tools. Maybe in a raining day we can do that 😉
I noticed that the Greensock platform isn’t listed anywhere. It should be listed somewhere here.
http://www.greensock.com/
LoaderMax is the master of all loaders. I can’t imagine using anything else.
Greensock Tweening platform some of the best tween managers around.
Transform Manager is super awesome.
Thank you, Patrick! I will add those libs.
Hi Dovyski,
Nice site mate. I’m not sure if you’ve come across my website and blog post titled ‘AS3 Code Libraries (APIs)’ which I try and keep adding entries to as and when I come across them.
http://www.adrianparr.com/?p=83
It’s good to see someone else doing something similar. I like the fact that your entire blog is devoted to it and therefore makes it easier to search and find what you are looking for. Mine is just a big long list broken up with a few category titles.
Keep up the good work.
Adrian
Hi, Adrian! Thank you! I’ve checked your list a very long time ago, but it is much bigger now. That’s great! I will spend several hours collecting new tools
You compiled a lot of interesting materials and sites. Congratulations! Your help is much appreciated.
About As3GameGears organization, I created the site because I had to keep lists and notes of useful tools/engines everywhere. It was not simple to use/search, but it is now. I am glad you like the site!
Hello, I thought that you might be interested in a super simple implementation of dynamic looped mp3 sounds that can be pitch-shifted in real-time. This can be used for racing games where you would speed up or slow down the sounds of the car engine so that it sounds like it is “revving” up or down.
“Pitch_Shift_MP3”
http://www.mcfunkypants.com/2011/as3-pitch-shift-mp3/
At the link above there is an interactive demo (move your mouse around to hear the changes), example source code and a .zip download of everything in one package. Enjoy!
Thank you! It’s a very interesting class. I have just a few tools under the sound category, it will certainly help.
Surprised that Nape isn’t listed for 2D physics. It outperforms any other flash physics engine I’ve seen.
Check:
http://deltaluca.me.uk/
http://code.google.com/p/nape/
Thanks for the tip, Trent. It’s the first time I hear about Nape, but it seems to be pretty powerful. I’ve scheduled the engine to appear here soon and also added your blog to my feeds.
Unfortunaletly awesome Gamegears doesn’t provide any way of starring our favourite libraries / projects… Would be glad if you implement that!
Hi Antonio! Thank you for the suggestion. I will try to find a plugin to implement that (or I will do one myself :D).
a new 2d engine http://code.google.com/p/animation-render-engine/
thanks
Thanks for the heads up! This tool will be available on the site soon.
Hi,
check out my totally revamped Advanced hi-res-stats fps-counter for game and application performance testing.
https://github.com/MindScriptAct/Advanced-hi-res-stats
Hi, there! Thank you for the contribution! Your project looks a great improvement to the original Hi-Res-Stats, congratulations! I will add it to the site soon.
I’d like to introduce my stage3D engine Nest3D(beta) and UI framework As3-Bloom(v1 released, v2 under construction) http://sindney.com/project/ 😉
Thanks for the heads up, sindney! I will add those tools soon. They look very cool 😉

i ♥ this Blog. thank you dear as3gamegears.
I use as3 for many years, but I totally missed this website.
Thanks for the great tools you have here!
You are welcome! I’m really glad to hear it’s useful. Stay tuned for more!
Hi.
Sorry, my english is very bad.
Thank you for good extensions. But i can’t find a very simple extension. Maybe it’s basic air feature, idk.
I need to get user accounts on device(android) – getAccounts in android-java. How can i do it?
Hi, Krost! You’re welcome!
About your request, I haven’t seen any extension able to do that. I think you will have to make your own. You can start off by taking a look at this tutorial (or this one).
Pls, is there any one who can help? I need a way(code) to connect my AS3 games on two seperate androids to communicate( send data, share data etc). Please its very important. Thanks
Hi ibrahim! Take a look at the multiplayer section. There you can find libs to exchange data between your game instances.
Thanks Dovyski, actually what I wanted to do is connect my game/apps installed on seperate android devices to communicate either through wireless (without access point), maybe wifi direct or hotspot or any other means. But not access point or internet. Thanks for d response.
I think you could use Bluetooth for that. Take a look at the Air Native Extension section.
